Rosa Rodriguez

Miss Rodriguez was born and raised in the great city of San Antonio. A former journalist, Rodriguez obtained her bachelors and masters degrees in communication arts from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, the largest private Hispanic-serving university in Texas, and the largest Catholic university in Texas. She was an editorial assistant at the San Antonio Express-News for a weekly bilingual publication, and a freelance writer for various San Antonio and DFW-area publications. Over the course of her career as an educator she stayed active in scholastic journalism, including advising student-produced yearbooks and newspapers. She taught Spanish, journalism, and photojournalism before transitioning into school counseling. She obtained her second masters degree in school counseling from Amberton University. Rodriguez is also employed with Dallas College where she’s a speech adjunct professor.
